Hamilton, Bermuda (March 22, 2016) The Argus Group today announces a donation of $2,500 to Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation in support of the Healthy Harvest Programme, a seed-to-table initiative that teaches math, science and life skills to children through hands-on work in the garden.

The programme currently is open to students at Prospect Preschool, Prospect Primary School, Lyceum Preschool, St. David's Preschool and Warwick Preschool. Through weekly courses, the students learn to plant, grow, harvest and cook a variety of healthy foods. In the process, students learn how to measure precise quantities for their cooking recipes, and what it takes to grow a plant from seeds.

Now in its second year, there currently are more than 100 students enrolled in the programme.

Fiona Rodriguez-Roberts, Director and Founder of Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation, says: I would like to thank Argus for its donation to our Healthy Harvest Programme, which has allowed us to grow this year. The children love being outside and getting their hands dirty as they tend to the garden. It’s in this fun hands-on format that we’re able to impart important life lessons about sustainable and healthy living to our students.

Lauren Bell, Executive Vice President of Life & Pensions at the Argus Group, says: “Kaleidoscope’s Healthy Harvest programme is a unique educational experience for students that we are proud to support. It directly complements Argus’ wellness progamme, Thrive., that encourages people to make positive and healthy life choices. We are never too young to start developing healthy habits and we applaud Kaleidoscope for teaching children the many benefits of gardening.
