Hamilton, Bermuda (March 18, 2015) – The Argus Group today announces its donation to the North Village Community Club, an organisation located in Pembroke that provides competitive sporting and community-based activities. The Argus donation is helping to fund an education centre.

Coaching sessions on sport strategy as well as health, nutrition and diet will be offered in the education centre during inclement weather. During school holidays, the centre will offer youth camps to students. The education centre also will house a homework club that will offer homework and study assistance to youth club members. There are currently more than 110 youth members, ranging in age from five to 16 years old, who participate in activities at the North Village Community Club.

While the children train, parents and guardians also will be offered seminars in the new centre on a number of topics, including financial planning for higher education, signs of bullying and effective anti-bullying approaches.

Stephen Coddington, President of the North Village Community Club, comments: “We would like to thank Argus for its donation to education centre. We are best known for our athletics but as a true community club, we are excited to expand our activities to include educational programmes for our students and their parents. Being a good athlete requires a healthy body and mind and that is exactly what we will promote in our new centre.”

Alison Hill, Chief Executive Officer of the Argus Group, says: “We are proud to help the North Village Community Club with its first education centre. At Argus, living a healthy and active lifestyle is one of our key focuses, as evident in our recently launched Thrive. programme. By offering educational sessions on nutrition and health as well as an outlet to play sports, the North Village Community Club is providing young people with a great start in life.”
