Argus Announces Appointments and Promotions
Hamilton, Bermuda (April 13, 2022) – Argus Americas today announced the recent appointments of Mrs. Kimberley D. Caines-Best as the Senior Legal Counsel and Mrs. Tawanna Wedderburn as the Vice President, Practice Operations.
Additionally, Mrs.?Sasha Castle-Siddiq has been promoted to?the position of Legal Counsel – Head of Compliance?and Mrs. Akilah Albuoy was promoted to?Head of Programme/Project Management (Americas).

Kimberley D. Caines-Best provides legal advice to Argus Americas (comprising Bermuda and Canada)?Kimberley was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010 and the Bermuda Bar in 2011. She is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association and the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. She is a Notary Public and a Blackstone Fellow.

Mrs. Caines-Best began her legal career in civil litigation with a local firm where she advised on a range of civil matters for seven years before moving to HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited as Legal Counsel.

Mrs. Caines-Best completed her education at the University of Western Ontario, where she obtained a B.A. (Hons) in Women’s Studies and Spanish Language and Literature. She attained her LL.B. (Hons) and completed the Bar Vocational Course at the City Law School. Mrs. Caines-Best has served on various Government Boards and is a former Board Member on the Bermuda High School for Girls Board of Trustees where she served on the school’s Governance Committee and chaired the Inclusion Committee. She is also the co-founder of the Women’s Legal Network and a member of the Bermuda Toastmasters Club.

Tawanna Wedderburn?is the Vice President, Practice Operations and is responsible for Argus’ medical practices – Island Health Services and the Family Practice Group.?With more than 20 years’ experience in healthcare delivery and management, she worked in hospitals in Canada and Bermuda before leading the island’s health regulator with a mandate to improve the quality of healthcare in Bermuda.??

Mrs. Wedderburn completed her graduate studies at the University of Toronto and has received certificates in health systems and public sector management from the World Bank and Harvard University’s School of Public Health.??She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a trustee on the Westmeath Board of Trustees.? Prior to joining Argus, Tawanna was the Clinical Director for the Bermuda Hospitals Board’s Mental Health Services.

Akilah Albuoy?was promoted to the role of Head of Programme/Project Management (Argus Americas). ?Akilah received her Master's Degree in Risk Management from St. John’s University. She has?more than 20 years of experience working in the?insurance industry in the United States. She?joined the Argus family?in?2015, where she worked in the Strategic Development Office as?a?Business Analyst and later as a Project Manager. She then?moved to Global Project Services working with the corporate headquarters, Americas and European regions as a Release Training Engineer and Program Manager.??

Ms. Albuoy is responsible for coordinating project portfolios and the management and delivery of projects and oversees enhancements in portfolios in alignment with the company’s project management methodology. She is responsible for a team of project managers and Quality Assurance testing professionals. Akilah has outstanding leadership skills with a reputation for delivering results,?building relationships and identifying and implementing process efficiency. She has been instrumental in?delivering innovative solutions that ultimately benefit customers.

Sasha Castle-Siddiq is the Head of Compliance for the Americas Region. She joined Argus in January 2016 as a Corporate Administrator and legal counsel. Sasha provides legal and compliance advice and corporate administrative services to the Argus Americas Region (Bermuda and Canada) and is responsible for a wide range of compliance functions including analysis and interpretation, transaction management and serving as Company Secretary.??
Mrs. Castle-Siddiq completed her education at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice and was called to the Bar in December 2001. She?is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association and a Notary Public. She recently certified as a Privacy Officer Practitioner and in GDPR & Caribbean Privacy.
